First Weekend Program Announced and Winter Preparation
So, it has been a long time since I have updated this website and Coyote Club has gone through many wonderful changes. We have expanded our program to include Greenland and Garrison school in Dover, and we now have 4 schools running year-round wildlife programs. I can't tell you how gratifying and validating all the growth, support and enthusiasm has been. Our goal is to reach as many children as possible, for the greater good of the community and the planet, and we are seeing this happen before our eyes. Both Mary and I would like to thank all the teachers, parents, school workers and children who have made Coyote Club what it is today.
As mentioned above, we have an amazing program scheduled for January 3rd out at the Raymond and Simone Wildlife Preserve in South Berwick, Maine. We will be tracking local wildlife and learning to build winter survival shelters. A roaring fire will warm our bodies and spirits as we share stories and warm drinks. For more information, contact us at johnny@nhecology.com or CLICK HERE. Hope to see you there!
Lastly, I hope everyone is getting a chance to explore the woods, fields, and backyards of New England as we prepare for winter. This time of year affords us an amazing opportunity to watch birds move about the leafless, forest canopy. Just today I managed to spy a red-bellied, hairy, downy and pileated woodpecker all within a few minutes of each other. My guess is that the warm weather of the day (50 degrees!) had the insects crawling about and the birds could not resist these delicious snacks. So, keep an eye out for those woodpeckers, and you might see a few other New England animals foraging around in the woods this December, as we all prepare for the months ahead.

Welcome to the new site...
We are happy to announce the creation of the new and improved Coyote Club website. I'll be posting news and blog style entries here from now on. I can't believe the school year is already winding down, and we plan on packing these last few sessions with tons of amazing lessons. June is a very exciting year for us Coyote Club people, with the migrating birds singing from the tree tops, and new plants bursting from the ground every day. The weather is warming up, and with that comes bug season. Remember that insects play a vital role in our environment, and without them, things just wouldn't be the same. After all, whose gonna eat all those leaves off the ground in the fall and fatten up our migrating birds before their long trip back to the south? Keep in mind that long sleeves and pants, even in warm weather, are the best way to keep the bugs from stinging, biting or just plain bothering you. See you in the woods! Johnny
